Folsom caregiver arrested after caught abusing elderly dementia patient

FOLSOM, CA - A former caregiver at a senior center has been sentenced for elder abuse in Folsom this week reports CBS13.

The incident happened at Brookdale Senior Living on Harrington Way at East Bidwell Street.

Sharan Kaur was caught on camera abusing the 89-year-old woman with dementia. The victim's family noticed bruises on the woman and installed a hidden camera in her room.

Kaur was arrested last September after authorities obtained footage of them violently grabbing the woman's head, pulling her hair, and pushing the patient.

A judge ordered Kaur to surrender April 29 to 90 days in jail on a misdemeanor charge.
