SACRAMENTO, CA - Two people were hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after an apartment in Sacramento Thursday morning.

The fire started in the back of an upstairs unit on the 6000 block of Land Park Drive, reports CBS13.

Emergency crews found two people on the ground outside of the building who had jumped out of a window to escape the fire. They were seriously injured and rushed to an area hospital.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
