SACRAMENTO, CA - Two people were injured in a major accident involving an overturned semi-truck in Sacramento Monday evening, reports CBS13.
The incident occurred at roughly 7:30 p.m. on State Highway 99 near the US 50 West connector. A semi-truck fell on its side as it attempted to enter the connector and dropped a 40,000 pound pipe into the roadway. The truck's driver and a passenger were injured as a result.
The debris left by the crash shut down all northbound lanes of Highway 99 in the area until early Tuesday morning. A guardrail along the side of the highway was also damaged in the accident.
