1 dead, 1 seriously injured after major crash in Vacaville

VACAVILLE, CA - A man was killed and a woman suffered serious injuries after a major crash on I-80 near Alamo Drive, reports Fox40.

It was roughly 5 a.m. Monday morning when a westbound Toyota van rear-ended a trailer that was being towed by a semi-truck. The van rolled as a result of the collision and threw both passengers out of the vehicle.

They were both rushed to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, where the man driving the van was pronounced dead from his injuries. The passenger of the van is still being treated for serious injuries.

A police investigation of the cause of the collision is still underway.
