Woman injured in hit-and-run collision on SR-51 in NE Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A woman was hurt Thursday afternoon after a hit-and-run crash on Capital City Freeway near Sacramento's Point West neighborhood, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident took place on the ramp connecting southbound freeway (SR-51) to the southbound lanes of California Highway 160. It was first reported by CHP shortly before 2:30 p.m.

Few details have been provided, but a white BMW was hit by another vehicle that fled the scene.

An ambulance was en route for one female occupant in the BMW who hit her head in the crash and displayed confusion.

By 2:43 p.m., the far left lane became blocked as fire crews arrived on the scene, but a tow was underway.
