CAMERON PARK, CA – A woman and two-year-old boy suffered major injuries after being ejected from a pickup truck near Cameron Park on Saturday evening.

A 28-year-old man was driving the Toyota Tacoma westbound on Highway 50 in the Sierra Nevada Foothills when the accident took place. Just after 6 p.m., the truck overturned and came to rest on the highway’s median, reports The Mercury News.

Monica Guzman, 19, and a two-year-old were ejected from the vehicle causing major injuries. Another 22-year-old woman and a one-year-old girl sustained minor injuries in the crash. All four were transported to UC Davis Medical Center.

The driver was not injured. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and say alcohol may have been involved.
