SACRAMENTO, CA -- Crews responded to a vehicle fire Wednesday afternoon near the Walsh Station area in east Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.
The incident was reported at the intersection of Mayhew Road and Jackson Road at around 3:53 p.m.
Few details have been made available, but CHP said a gray Mercedes was found abandoned and on fire next to a power pole.
Authorities initially reported a collision involving the vehicle and the pole, but have determined no crash occurred after an investigation.
Sacramento Fire crews were dispatched to contain the fire from spreading to nearby brush.
By 4:38 p.m., a tow truck had arrived on scene to clear the wreck.
No further details have been provided on a possible cause of the fire. As of 4:38 p.m. Wednesday, no injuries have been reported.
