Vacaville passenger dead, another seriously injured, in crash involving alcohol

VACAVILLE, CA - A woman died and another person was injured in a single-vehicle crash that happened in Vacaville Sunday night.

Johnathon Loreto-Medina was speeding while driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound on Hay Road approaching Meridian Road, according to The Reporter. He did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection and left the pavement. The pickup became airborne and crashed into an irrigation ditch.

Gabrielle Loreto, 55, was killed in the crash. Another passenger, Carla Vasquez, 24, suffered major injuries and was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was arrested and transported to Solano County Jail under suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Police are still investigating this incident.
