Two-vehicle collision reported on SR-51 offramp in NE Sacramento

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A two-vehicle accident Monday evening blocked multiple lanes on a Business 80 offramp near Sacramento's Sunshine area, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on the the ramp connecting SR-51 northbound to Marconi Avenue shortly before 6:00 p.m.

Few details have been provided, authorities said a white Toyota Camry and a black Lexus were involved.

CHP indicated on their crash report that a giant trash bag landed on the windshield of one or both involved vehicles moments before the collision.

Both vehicles came to rest in the middle of the ramp, with one car overturned on its side.

Four lanes were blocked by the scene but was later reported cleared at 6:24 p.m.

CHP said no injuries were reported in the accident, though a tow truck was required for both vehicles, suggesting significant damage.
