Two-car crash blocks shoulder on I-80 near American River College

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A two-vehicle collision was reported Monday afternoon near American River College in northeast Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place near the I-80 eastbound offramp to Madison Avenue shortly before 3:21 p.m.

It is not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but it involved a silver Chevy Captviva and a white Volkwagen GTI.

One of the involved vehicles was initially blocking a left lane but were later moved to the right hand shoulder.

As of 3:39 p.m., CHP has not reported any significant injuries

The crash report indicates at least one of the vehicles involved remained drivable, suggesting a minor accident.
