STOCKTON, CA - A driver in a semi-truck hauling produce and other goods crashed on I-5 northbound Tuesday morning.
The big rig was overturned on the interstate just south of Mathews Road off-ramp reports KCRA. The driver said they were attempting to avoid hitting horses that had gotten loose from a nearby property.
One of the horses was killed after the crash. Animal control crews found five more near the interstate uninjured.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision and no injuries have been reported as of this writing.
