Three hurt in multi-vehicle crash on I-5 offramp near north Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- At least three people were injured Thursday evening in a multi-vehicle wreck on an Interstate 5 offramp near Sacramento's Gateway West area, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident took place on the interstate's Exit 522 offramp to I-80 southbound shortly before 5:50 p.m.

According to CHP, three vehicles were involved, including a red sedan, a black SUV, and another unknown vehicle

CHP officers and Sacramento Fire crews arrived to find the red sedan with its airbags deployed and all vehicles blocking three southbound lanes.

The CHP crash report indicates parties in all three vehicles suffered minor injuries and complained of pain. An ambulance was en route to the scene.
