Suspected DUI crash reported on US-50 in Rancho Cordova

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A suspected DUI collision was reported late Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 50 near the Cordova Towne area of Rancho Cordova, according to California Highway Patrol.

Both CHP officers and Sacramento Fire crews responded to the crash on the US-50 westbound offramp to Mather Field Road and was first reported by CHP shortly before 4:00 p.m.

Few details have been provided at this time, but the CHP crash report indicates a single-vehicle accident. The crash appears to have damaged a black and white turn lane sign.

The report also shows a blood test was administered at the scene, suggesting the involved driver was suspected of impairment.

The crash was sitting on the right hand shoulder until it was cleared by Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) at 4:50 p.m.
