Sacramento man killed by drunk driver in hit-and-run

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento man was killed by a drunk driver in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning not far from Stockton Boulevard and Fruitridge Road.

When Sacramento police made it to the scene of the incident around 1:20 a.m. they found a man in critical condition. Members of the Sacramento Fire Department declared him dead shortly thereafter.

According to Sacramento police, the driver thought to be responsible for the incident was found near the scene. An investigation concluded that 33-year-old Oletha Durham had stolen the vehicle involved in the accident and was intoxicated while operating it.

Durham has since been arrested and is facing charges of vehicle theft, driving under the influence, and leaving the scene of a collision.
