Police SUV involved in crash in Rancho Cordova

RANCHO CORDOVA, CA - A police officer struck a street sign pole Friday afternoon in Rancho Cordova, reports CBS13.

The police officer was driving along Folsom Boulevard near where it intersects with Bradshaw Road when they left the roadway and hit a street sign pole with enough force to damage the front of the squad SUV and set off the airbags.

Several emergency responders were called to the scene, but it is still unclear if the officer was injured.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation by authorities and the officer involved has not been named.
