One killed in single-car wreck on Douglas Blvd near SE Rancho Cordova

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- One person died Monday evening after a single-vehicle accident near southeast Rancho Cordova's Anatolia area, according to FOX40.

The accident took place near the intersection of Douglas Road and Sunrise Boulevard at approximately 8:00 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but a photo shared by Metro Fire of Sacramento suggests a car slammed into a tree. No other vehicles appeared to have been involved.

First responders confirmed one person was killed as a result of the crash. It was unclear whether they were the driver or a passenger in the car.

An investigation into the fatal incident was underway.
