SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a single-vehicle collision involving a tree near a community center in Orangevale, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Hazel Avenue and Oak Avenue shortly before 3:15 p.m.

The reporting party was traveling in a truck that crashed into a tree. It was not immediately clear whether the tree had fallen prior to the crash or if the crash had caused the tree to fall.

The tree was reported to have fallen across all lanes of Hazel Avenue.

One person in the truck suffered an advanced injury as a result of the accident. No other details have been disclosed about their condition.

The road remained blocked as CHP officers worked to gather cords and other supplies to remove the tree from the road.
