SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A multi-vehicle accident was reported Tuesday evening on U.S. Highway 50 near the Kirkwood Place area in Rancho Cordova, according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported on the US-50 westbound offramp to Sunrise Boulevard at around 6:46 p.m.
Few details have been released at this time, but the CHP crash report indicates as many as four or five vehicles were involved, including a gray Toyota pickup truck and a white Kia Optima.
Two vehicles were said to have come to rest in a center lane, and two other vehicles were blocking the right hand shoulder.
Tow trucks were en route to clear the pickup truck, which sustained moderate fender and rear-end damage, as well as the Kia Optima with moderate fender damage.
The impact of the crash caused airbags to deploy in all the other involved vehicles.
As of 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, CHP has not reported any significant injuries in the accident.
