Multi-vehicle collision reported on I-80 WB near North Highlands

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A multi-vehicle accident was reported Friday evening on Interstate 80 near the Madison Meadows area near North Highlands, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on the I-80 westbound offramp to Madison Avenue and was first reported by CHP at 6:23 p.m.

Details are limited, but three vehicles appear to have been involved, including a black Dodge Avenger, a blue Subaru, and one other unknown vehicle.

Two vehicles came to rest on, or were able to be moved to, the right hand shoulder. The third vehicle came to a stop in the roadway and blocked a center lane.

As of 6:30 p.m., CHP has not confirmed any significant injuries in the accident.
