Motorcyclist seriously injured in pickup truck crash on SR-51 in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A motorcyclist suffered major injuries Friday afternoon in a collision involving a pickup truck on Capital City Freeway in northeast Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the scene on the southbound onramp from Capital City Freeway to Fulton Avenue shortly before 3:00 p.m.

Little has been reported on the events leading up to the crash, but officers arrived to find the motorcycle down with the rider laying down in the center divider, and the pickup truck blocking the far left lane.

The rider was transported by ambulance with serious injuries.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The left lane of SR-51 southbound was shut down as emergency crews responded.
