Motorcyclist hurt after multi-vehicle crash on I-80 in NE Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A motorcyclist was injured Wednesday afternoon after a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 80 near Sacramento's Norwood Tech area, according to California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred on the I-80 eastbound offramp to Norwood Avenue and was first reported by CHP around 3:27 p.m.

Limited details are available, but the motorcyclist appears to have been speeding and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

The crash report indicates the rider collided with up to two vehicles, including a white BMW and an older gray pickup truck.

The rider suffered minor injuries and had come to rest near the center divider, blocking the HOV lane.

By 3:32 p.m., a traffic backup had extended down to Truxel Road.
