Motorcyclist hit, seriously hurt by driver on Jackson Rd in Rancho Murieta

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A motorcycle was hospitalized Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle near Riverview Park in Rancho Murieta, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at the intersection with Murieta South Parkway and was first reported by CHP at 3:37 p.m.

An early investigation indicates a red two-door Jaguar made a turn in the path of a black 2021 Yamaha motorcycle, resulting in a collision.

First responders arrived to find the rider lying down on the right hand shoulder. Medics rushed the victim to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center with major injuries.

It was unclear whether or not anyone in the Jaguar was injured.

By 5:10 p.m., the scene had cleared from the roadway.
