SACRAMENTO, CA -- A 35-year-old man died early Friday morning after losing control of his pickup truck on California State Route 160 near Johnston Business Park in north Sacramento, according to The Sacramento Bee.
California Highway Patrol officers responded to the accident in the northbound lanes of SR-160 approaching the offramp to Del Paso Boulevard at about 12:30 a.m.
The man was at the wheel of a Dodge Dakota speeding northbound when he appeared to lose control of the pickup truck, causing it to run off the road, flip, and crash into a tree.
Fire crews were at the scene to extricate the driver from the wrecked vehicle. No other passengers were in the truck at the time.
The man died at the scene.
CHP have determined speed as a cause of the crash, but were investigating other factors.
