Major injuries reported in Ranch Cordova collision

SACRAMENTO, CA - One person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash on US-50 westbound on the east side of Sacramento Thursday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just after 7 p.m. on US-50 near the Mather Field Road off-ramp. A driver in a Toyota Corolla collided with a Honda Civic, although the cause of the crash is not clear.

An occupant in the Honda Civic was trapped in their vehicle and required emergency crews to extract them. They were transported to an area hospital for major injuries.
