THOUSAND OAKS, CA - A man who was recognized as a local hero was killed in a motorcycle crash this past Saturday, reports ABC10.
Matt Wennerstrom was remembered for helping many people escape a gunman and shielding others in a shooting that happened at Borderline Bar & Grill in 2018.
On Saturday, Wennerstrom, 24 was thrown from his motorcycle after colliding with an SUV in the Newbury Park area of Thousand Oaks.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
