Injuries reported after two-car crash near Fair Oaks

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- At least one person was injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle collision near a Fair Oaks shopping center, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the scene on the northbound lanes of Dewey Drive just north of Madison Avenue at around 5:13 p.m.

It is not immediately clear what led up to the crash, but it involved a silver Toyota Prius and a small silver SUV.

An ambulance was en route for minor injuries, though the number of people injured has not been confirmed.

CHP said airbags in both vehicles were deployed, and a tow truck was requested at the scene, suggesting serious vehicle damage.

The crash was initially blocking multiple northbound lanes, but was cleared to the nearby Safeway parking lot at 5:21 p.m.
