SACRAMENTO, CA -- Injuries were reported Wednesday afternoon after a collision involving two vehicles in Antelope near north Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP officers responded to the crash in the intersection of Elverta Road and Northam Drive in the Antelope Heights neighborhood shortly before 4:00 p.m.

The accident involved a minivan and a Chevy Malibu, which was reported to have sustained moderate fender damages requiring a tow truck at the scene.

Few details have emerged on the cause of the crash, but officers arrived to find a vehicle blocking the center turn lane, creating a traffic hazard.

Minor injuries were reported in the report, though the extent of those injuries and the number of people injured is not immediately clear.

Crew members with Sacramento Fire were also assisting at the scene.
