SACRAMENTO, CA -- A hit-and-run crash was reported Friday afternoon near an intersection in the Drayton Heights neighborhood of Arden-Arcade east of Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Cody Way just east of Watt Avenue and was first reported at 1:38 p.m.
No injuries have been reported as of 1:48 p.m. on Friday.
Little information is currently known about the circumstances around the crash, but witnesses said the causing driver exited his vehicle and fled the scene walking his dog, a pit bull mix, along Cody Way.
The witness account describes the suspected driver as a white male last seen wearing a plaid shirt and blue shorts. It is believed that the animal was a factor in the crash.
