Head-on collision involving school bus injures 3 in Sacramento County

SACRAMENTO, CA – Three people are moderately injured after a wrong-way driver slammed into a school bus and another vehicle on SR 16 early Thursday morning.

According to FOX40, the incident happened at about 6:35 a.m., when the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu crossed double yellow lines while attempting to pass a school bus near Latrobe Road.

The Malibu collided head-on with a Chevy Spark and then struck the school bus, causing the Malibu to overturn.

The Spark's driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries. The Malibu's driver and a passenger also sustained injuries and were hospitalized.

Fortunately, no children were on the bus at the time of the crash, and the driver was uninjured.
