Five hospitalized after multi-car collision in Rio Linda

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- Five people suffered injuries Sunday afternoon in a collision involving multiple vehicles near a railroad crossing in Rio Linda, according to Sacramento Bee.

Metro Fire crews responded to the scene at the intersection of Blacktop Road and West Elkhorn Boulevard at approximately 2:45 p.m.

Emergency personnel had to extricate one victim from one of the involved vehicles. That victim, along with four other people, were transported to UC Davis Medical Center with undisclosed injuries.

Photos captured at the scene by Metro Fire reveal significant damages to the hood area of at least two vehicles.

No other information has been shared on the cause of the crash.
