Fatal hit-and-run collision reported on US-50 near Placerville

PLACERVILLE, CA - One person died in a hit-and-run crash that happened off Highway 50 in Camino Tuesday night.

According to the El Dorado County Sherriff's Office, the collision happened on Carson Road near the Apple Hill area. The driver was in a white Honda CR-V when they hit the pedestrian and fled the scene.

This vehicle was last seen driving westbound on Carson Road toward Placerville. Police are asking for anyone with information on this incident to call the California Highway Patrol at 916-861-1300.
