EMS respond to collision in North Highlands

NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA - Paramedics are responding to a single-vehicle accident on I-80 in North Highlands, according to the California Highway Patrol.

At 10:47 a.m., a red Honda Accord crashed into the center divider on I-80 near the Madison Avenue offramp, causing injuries to at least one person. According to a witness, the driver possibly passed out at the time of the collision.

The Honda has since been moved to the right hand shoulder and is awaiting a tow truck to clear it from the roadway. A CHP trooper has been called to direct traffic around the debris for the time being.

It is unclear how serious the injuries sustained from the incident are.
