SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A single-vehicle accident was reported after a man suffered a medical emergency and crashed his car in North Highlands this evening, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of Watt Avenue, just north of Elkhorn Boulevard at around 4:27 p.m.

Authorities said a passerby noticed the driver unconscious and pulled over, broke the driver's side window, and removed the victim from the vehicle. The driver was reported to be lying in the roadway near his vehicle, blocking the right lane.

By 5:05 p.m., CHP altered their crash report to indicate no significant injuries were sustained.

A tow truck was en route to the scene, though it was unclear whether the vehicle sustained significant damage or if the man was unable to drive.
