Damages reported in collision on SR-51 SB in northeast Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- Damages were reported Thursday afternoon after a crash on California Route 51 southbound in northeast Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened in the southbound lanes of SR-51, or Business Loop 80, at Marconi Avenue and was first reported by CHP at 4:10 p.m.

A white four-door sedan has been identified as the primary vehicle involved in the crash. At this time it is still unclear if a second vehicle is involved.

Police arrived on scene to find the sedan facing the wrong direction in the center divider of the road. It has not been confirmed whether or not the vehicle was in a wrong-way collision.

The vehicle sustained damages in the accident, though the extent of damage is not immediately clear.

As of 4:30 p.m. Thursday, no injuries have yet been reported.
