SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle accident late Wednesday closed three left lanes and a left shoulder on U.S. Highway 50 near Sacramento's Elmurst area, according to TTWN Sacramento.

The crash happened on the westbound lanes of the highway west of 59th Street. It was first reported by TTWN at 9:35 p.m.
By 10:20 a.m., one of the previously closed lanes were reopened, but two remained closed.
Motorists faced stop-and-go traffic stretching two exits back to Howe Avenue and Power Inn Road for nearly an hour.
