SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle accident Monday afternoon blocked two right lanes and caused a traffic backup on U.S. Route 50 near the Alhambra Triangle neighborhood in Sacramento, according to TTWN Sacramento.

The incident took place in the westbound lanes of US-50 east of Stockton Boulevard and was first reported at 1:40 p.m.
Only one right lane was initially reported closed until 1:55 p.m. when the closure was upgraded to two right lanes.
Motorists were warned of delays stretching back two exits to Howe Avenue and Power Inn Road.
At 2:15 p.m., 35 minutes after the original report, the scene was reported cleared.
