SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle accident blocked four lanes and an offramp on Capital City Freeway for more than an hour near midtown Sacramento, according to TTWN Sacramento.
The collision occurred on the westbound lanes of the freeway before P Street and was first reported at 1:00 p.m.
The westbound offramp to P Street was initially reported blocked, but by 1:30 p.m., four westbound lanes were shut down.
No details have been released, but all four lanes remained closed until 2:25 p.m., suggesting a significant accident and response effort.
The event left a traffic backup stretching back to Marconi Avenue.
