SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle accident Monday afternoon blocked the left lane on Capital City Freeway eastbound near the Point West neighborhood in Sacramento, according to TTWN Sacramento.

The collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of Capital City Freeway before the California Route 160 merge and was first reported by TTWN at 2:10 p.m.
The accident created a three-mile traffic backup extending down to H Street.
By 2:40 p.m., half an hour after the original report, the backup extended well past the Alhambra Triangle area, suggesting a significant accident and required response time.
