Collision reported on US-50 near Zinfandel Woods in Rancho Cordova

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A vehicle accident was reported late Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 50 near Rancho Cordova's Zinfandel Woods area, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on the Zinfandel Drive onramp to the eastbound highway and was first reported by CHP at 4:22 p.m.

Details are limited at this time, but the CHP traffic incident report indicates a vehicle collided with a roadway barrier.

It is unclear how many vehicles were involved, but a witness told officers a large white van and a small sedan were at rest on the nearby right hand shoulder.

CHP has not confirmed any significant injuries in the event, but an ambulance was en route to the scene.
