Collision closes two lanes on I-5 SB near Old Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle accident Thursday afternoon blocked two right lanes on Interstate 5 southbound near the Old Sacramento neighborhood in Sacramento, according to TTWN Sacramento.

The crash happened in the southbound lanes of I-5 near J Street and was first reported at 2:15 p.m.

Motorists were told to expect delays extending three miles down to Richards Boulevard.

As of 2:30 p.m. Thursday, the two lanes remained closed and the traffic backup stretched even farther down to the Interstate 80 merge.
