Collision blocks lane on I-80 WB in west Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A vehicle crash Tuesday morning was blocking the second lane from the left on Interstate 80 westbound in west Sacramento, according to TTWN Sacramento.

The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of I-80 near the exit to West Capitol Avenue and was first reported by TTWN Sacramento at 8:35 a.m.

Morning commuters were told to expect a five-mile traffic backup extending down to the Sacramento River.

At 9:10 a.m., the traffic backup was reported to have shortened 3.3 miles down to the California Route 84 merge near Reed Avenue.
