CHP searches for driver after rollover wreck near SR-51 in NE Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A driver crashed into a utility pole in northeast Sacramento early Thursday morning and appears to have fled the scene, according to FOX 40.

California Highway Patrol said the incident occurred near the intersection of Marconi Avenue and Howe Avenue.

It is unclear what led up to the accident, but authorities arrived to find the wrecked vehicle completely vacant.

Photos taken at the scene show a dark-colored Honda at rest on its driver's side along the right hand shoulder.

No further information has been released, but an investigation remains underway.
