Car crashes into guardrail on I-5 in north Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, CA -- A single-vehicle accident was reported Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 5 near the Natomas area in north Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened on I-5 southbound offramp to Arena Boulevard and was first reported by CHP at 3:26 p.m.

CHP officers, Sacramento Fire crews, and Freeway Service Patrol (FSP) responded to the scene where an older-model white sedan had spun out into a guardrail, causing both of the vehicle's airbags to deploy.

At least one person sustained minor injuries, but declined to be transported by ambulance.

A tow truck was requested at the scene, suggesting significant vehicle damage.

The crash was initially blocking a center-right lane, but has since been cleared from the interstate.
