SACRAMENTO, CA -- Injuries were reported Thursday afternoon in a two-car collision on Capital City Freeway near the Point West neighborhood in northeast Sacramento, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes of the freeway at Exposition Boulevard shortly before 2:06 p.m.
Little information has been reported on the circumstances behind the crash, but it involved a gold Toyota Corolla and a blue SUV.
Minor injuries have been reported, but authorities have not confirmed the number of people injured.
Both vehicles were blocking lanes 2 and 3 as a result of the crash.
Fire crews were being dispatched to the scene as one car was found to be emitting smoke.
