SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- A two-vehicle accident was reported Wednesday evening on an Interstate 80 onramp near North Highlands, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on the ramp connecting Madison Avenue to I-80 eastbound. It was first reported by CHP at 6:44 p.m.
Few details have been provided, but a white GMC pickup truck and a dark-colored SUV were involved. Both vehicles came to rest in the center divider, partially blocking the far left traffic lane.
According to CHP, one vehicle possibly rolled into the eastbound lanes from the westbound lanes.
An ambulance was en route to the scene, suggesting likely injuries to at least one person.
The event created a significant traffic backup stretched four exits back to Business Loop 80.
