SACRAMENTO, CA -- A single-vehicle collision was reported late Thursday night on the Capital City Freeway near northeast Sacramento's Cal Expo area, according to California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on the southbound freeway's (SR-51) offramp to Exposition Boulevard. It was first reported by CHP shortly before 11:00 p.m.
Authorities said a silver sedan spun out on the roadway and collided with the center divider, causing smoke to emit from the vehicle. Shortly after, the vehicle was said to have caught fire.
An ambulance was en route to the scene, suggesting likely injuries to at least one person.
