Signal light damaged by hit-and-run driver in Arden-Arcade

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA -- Property damage was reported Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle struck a signal light in Arden-Arcade's Gordon Place area, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident was reported at the intersection of Fair Oaks Boulevard and Saverien Drive shortly before 1:41 p.m.

An early investigation shows a vehicle hit and smashed in the signal light for the left-turn lane. Evidence at the crash site indicates the causing vehicle was too tall and did not properly clear the height of the light pole as it passed in the westbound lanes.

Authorities said the vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.

No injuries were reported in the event.
