19 children sent to hospital, 2 in Sacramento ICU after SUV crashes into school

ANDERSON, CA - Several children were hospitalized after a woman in an SUV crashed into a preschool in Anderson on Thursday afternoon.

According to local media, a woman driving a Suzuki SUV crashed into the Great Adventures Christian Preschool at Balls Ferry Road and Martha Street.

At least 19 children were sent to the hospital to be evaluated. While most of the hospitalizations were precautionary, two children have been sent to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. They were admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit for injuries.

The woman who hit the building was questioned and is not believed to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the crash.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
